23 weeks and so much more!

23 weeks. Holy cow!  Moving right along!  Still feeling great!

Had my cervix check last Friday the 23rd. Sorry it’s taken me so long to update. Cervix looks good… at about 3.75. Hot doc is happy with that. They did a quick ultrasound and checked out babies’ hearts and facial features (checking for cleft palate and features of Downs Syndrome). Both look great. Hot doc has no concerns.

Hot doc did mention that Baby B has a little bit of extra amniotic fluid around her. This COULD be a concern… OR …it could be nothing. Hot doc seems to think it might be due to how Baby B was positioned during the ultrasound. It’s common with twins when they are both smooshed in there. He said it could also be a result of Gestational Diabetes. He will have me tested again after my next appt (Jan 9). I’m HOPING it’s not that. GD would be miserable. But… we wait and see. I will have another ultrasound on the 9th and they will check the fluid then too.

My BP was high during this appointment. Hot doc suggested I get a BP machine for home and take my BP 2x a day for a couple days. He had me return to the office yesterday (12-28) for a BP check. My BP at home had been great. My BP at the office yesterday was 123/82 which is pretty good. Hot doc thinks I have “white coat syndrome” and I am subconsciously nervous at the doctors office. He said my BP is normal :). Yay!!!!!

Here is a fun comparison picture for you. The pic on the right is from today. Crazy what 3 weeks will do!

More exciting news!  Tonight I felt Baby B moving all around (I think she liked the handful of M and Ms I had)!  I have been feeling them for awhile. But, for the first time I felt Baby B kick from the outside!  I also saw my belly jump. I am so excited for Missi and Court to be able to feel and see them move!!!

I also know this means things could get uncomfortable very quickly…lol.

It’s a pretty cool feeling… I’m so excited for them!

Next appt is Jan 9 when we go to hot doc AND see my OB. Hoping to have answers on the fluid stuff and hoping my BP stays low!

Stay tuned….

22 weeks!

22 weeks! Feelin good! Had a couple rough days this past week… belly pain and back discomfort. I think it was caused by Baby B being in a bad spot. I’m sure she has somewhat moved by now as I feel fine!

I am starting to feel actual kicks and movements vs tickles. I don’t feel a ton yet though 🙂

My only real complaints are heartburn here and there and being out of breath lol. The scale continues to go up (😳) which I’m trying to deal with. I found ALL the extra weight I’ve gained… it’s in my upper thighs! Lol

I have had some swelling but it’s manageable. My sister got me some compression socks and those help ALOT!

My next appt is this Friday for a cervix check. 🙂
Stay tuned!!!….

Well that’s swell…ing…

So yesterday I wore my tall black boots (over my jeans) to work. I wasn’t necessarily on my feet more than normal but I took my boots off at the end of the day and this happened:

Nothing like a little (🙄) leg swelling!!! Guess I’ll have to retire my boots for the winter…

21 weeks

The tape on my belly shows how long the babies would be if stretched 100% out.

I think this past week I’ve really noticed some of the physical limitations I’m gonna have. I get uncomfortable when sitting too long. I can’t breathe, especially after I eat! And heartburn is still my main complaint! But…for being 21 weeks with twins… I honestly feel great!

Story time

I’ve been using Belly Buds the past week or so. They are headphones that stick on my belly. Through an app I can play music (including lullabies), or voice files. Missi and Court have recorded themselves reading stories and they send them to me. Then I can play them for the girls!  This is a good way for the girls to learn their voices!  It’s fun to feel them move when they are listening 🙂

Anatomy scan

Today we saw Hot doc for our anatomy scan. They measured EVERYTHING on both babies. It’s so crazy what they can see through ultrasound. They measured arms, legs, fingers, head, abdomen, kidneys, bladder, heart, spine, the cord etc. The list goes on and on.

Me, Missi, Court and the ultrasound chick all had a good laugh at Baby A. She was making ultrasound chick work for her money today!  She was moving all around, kicking her legs and her arms were just a goin’….  it was so funny’.

Baby B was pretty chill, as always. She was asleep at the beginning of the ultrasound but woke up after a bit. She was not very cooperative with giving us a good profile shot. But, here she is… sucking her thumb again:

Hot doc said both babies look great! No markers for Downs Syndrome, no concerns, with the heart, or other important body parts. The hearts will be checked again in 4 weeks just because they will be a hair bigger then.

Both girls weigh about 11oz. Baby A is closest to the exit and used to be laying on the right side of my lower abdomen. Apparently she has moved more to the left side and she is back to being head down, feet up.

Baby B is still laying horizontally up by my ribs. Her head is on my right side. She used to be more on the left side of my upper abdomen but is now more on the right side. Apparently they are dancin around in there 🙂

My blood pressure was still a hair high but hot doc said he wasn’t concerned and that it’s a normal BP for someone carrying twins.

I don’t have any swelling or soreness. I struggled with constipation so bad since hot doc has added in the iron supplement. We came up with a plan for that (sorry.  TMI).

Cervix is measuring at 4.1. They like to see it over 4 but don’t get worried until it’s closer to 2.5. I go back for 3 more cervix checks, each every 2 weeks.

After seeing hot doc we went downstairs and saw our OB. It was a quick visit. She just wanted to check in and see how things were going. My BP was lower in her office than in hot docs office so she isn’t one bit concerned.

After a morning of doctors appointments, me, Missi, and Court went to mom and dads for a little project. I can’t say much now, but I will fill you in soon!  We had fun snapping pics!

Next appointment is my cervix check in 2 weeks.

Stay tuned!
